23yrs Amputee Narrates Ordeal In Nasarawa

Mr Yahaya Mohammed-Galadima, a 23-year-old automobile mechanic whose two hands were amputated by armed robbers has narrated his ordeal.
Mr Mohammed-Galadima made the lamentation while speaking to newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia.
According to him Friday 28 January 2022 he went out to work as an automobile mechanic just like other days, but made the unfortunate situation that befall him.
“I came out from my house that faithful day with my two hands and left my workshop at Kilema in Lafia to repair a broken vehicle in Yelwa-Rukubi road in Doma Local Government Area (LGA).

“I was returning to Lafia with my 13 years apprentice on my motorcycle between 7-8:00pm when a group of five armed persons flagged us down by flashing a torch light .
“I attempted to beat the blockade they mounted on the road, one of them hit him with a log of wood and we fell down,” the victim added.
He said that they robbed him of his telephone handset, money and the motorcycle and left him lying on the ground.
He further explained that after a while, one of them came back and started matcheting him, he tried to block his head, but the attacker cut off his two hands.
He cried that his life had been shattered as according to him, his trade as a mechanic which he used to make between N5,000 and N10,000 daily had come to a painful end.
Mohammed-Galadima said that he cannot longer cater for his wife, three children and his old mother in his present condition.
Also, Hajiya Ramatu Adamu, Mother of the victim, who spoke amidst tears pointed out that her son was the breadwinner of the family noting that the attack had left her devastated.
When contacted, ASP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer in the State said the matter had not been officially reported to the command.
