It was a wonderful and, an exciting weekend with God at the main campus of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi as youths, most of whom are students were hosted to a 4-day program, tagged the 2019 Kingdom Youth Ministry Convention.
The event which was put together principally by the leadership of the youth fellowship wing of the Chapel of Salvation of the university was the fourth in series since the commencement of the fellowship in July18, 2015.
The convention started from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 May, 2019 at the auditorium of the Chapel of Salvation of the institution.
The convention which brought other youths from within and out side keffi town, featured drama and song ministrations from various Gospel astists, some of whom are Joshua Babuje from Akwanga, pastor Bakare, Abuja, Nekeng Chuwang, Jos and Bishop Praise from Kaduna all thrilled the gathering to an exciting moments of worship and praise.
Aside from these, there was released of various spiritual delicacies from heaven as enshrined in the Holy book of the Bible, as many were also delivered from the age long bondage, cause and attacks that hitherto hinders them becoming what God wants them to be in life.
There was also intercessory prayers for the students, the university, the state and the country, as well as drama presentation by the drama unit of the chapel, which captured the theme of the 2019 convention, Arise, Eat: For The Journey Is Too far. I Kings 19:7.
The organizers of the 4-days youth convention also packaged a relationship/Marriage seminar for the youth where they were admonished on the necessary spiritual steps to be taken before marriage.
The pioneer co-ordinator and vissionner of the fellowship, Bro. Wanna D. Wanna tasked the youths to take the works of the kingdom seriously, if they must succeed in life.
He emphasized on the need for the youth to be open and stay clear from acts inimical to the works of Christ on Earth.
Bro. Wana charged the youth to let their heart be open for God to filled them with His spirit for greater exploit on campus.
He urged the youths not to allow anything distract them in the race to eternity, saying that the future holds alot of beautiful tidings for grabbed.
The chaplain of Chapel of Salvation, Pastor Abraham Areo was hopeful that the youth and the entire congregation of the chapel would not remain the same.
He urges Christians to hold on to God and avail themselves for the greater work of the kingdom.
He commended the students for the zealousnes and hope that they sustained the fire after the convention.
The guest speaker, Brother Josiah Musa of the Peace House Field Mission, Lafia who took his main text from Hebrew 1: 1-4 charged Christans to make Jesus Christ the content of their lives for a blameless, prosperous and greater living.
The clergy who was emphatical of the salvation of those who testify about christ, said any body who remain the same after the 4-day convention, indicated that such soul/being is internally caused.
He said, from the works of Christ on the cross and the teachings received so far, there is no reason “our lives be remain thesame.”
He called on Christians to settle for Jesus Christ in order to gain the whole, even as he prayed God to Grace his people with testimonies that comes as result of Faith.
Brother Musa cautiones students involved in cult activities to come out from from it, adding, for God to get you out of bondage of sins, such soul must repent.
While urging the students in particular to avoid any distraction that would lead them damnation, called on the believer to rise up against forces of the darkness
He stressed that whatsoever a man saw, that wlhe will eat, hence for them to be mindful of tendencies, such as social media and other worldly activities that have no connection with the kingdom of God.
He noted, as one of the work of the flesh, we must also do away with anger, carelessness, and been reactionary
He said, unless they believe in the word of God, and hold to it firmly, no one would be great, adding that the secret of once success is in the glory of God through deligent service and worship.
He charged Christians to be courage enough to believe in God, as what people are saying about is their personal report or opinion.
“Whatsoever Satan has been doing or saying, brain washing God’s people, it is all lies because God created us in to be great.
He advised the youths to study and be medidative in the word of God to show themselves approved even in the here after.
Brother Musa who gave account of the lives of Joseph, David, Esau, and Elijah from the book of the Bible, said these men showed high sense of integrity, love for God and fear, who were unquestionable in their characters.
He tasked lecturers of the university to focus in building the character of the students, not to be collecting money from their hands, stating that they would surely account for their deeds soon.
He said, the stay in the university is about saving lives, hence they should labour in the lives of the students.
He noted that, most of the lecturers are debtors in the vineyard of God, who neglected their responsibilities on campus, adding that, any lecturer with wisdom would not concentrate on earthily things that only last temporary.
Brother Musa however prayed for the righteouness of God on the campus if Nasarawa State University, Keffi and this can only be possible if both the lecturers and students live their part for Christ.
The Council Chairman of the Chapel, Professor Ayuba Haruan Kuje thanked God for the success of the convention and prayed for all asundry to sustain the tempo.
He charged youths to shun pornography, cultism , anger, fashion and do the will of God
Professor Kuje particularly thanked the guest speaker, Brother Josiah Musa, other Gospel astists for their sacrifice, time and commitment demonstrated during the convention.
He charged the youth to keep to the lessons learnt for the growth by filling their lives with the word of God as an antidotes of their lives journey.
He said, no man walk for with God and be ashamed for services rendered.
