UNICEF has reiterated its determination in the fulfilment of its targets with partnership with the Niger state government by continued support, hence the needed visionary leadership in achieving the desired results.
The Chief Field Office, UNICEF Kaduna, Dr Zakari Adam who is in charge of Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa and Kaduna States made the disclosure yesterday in Minna at the 2019 End of Year Review and Planning Meeting.
He challenged the Niger state government to improved on its parts of commitment in attaining better results in actualizing Sustainable Development Goals SDGs target hence UNICEF technical support
Dr Adam explained that UNICEF is advocating for integration of intervention of children in the public budget to enhanced the development of children through taking into cognizance the importance of investing in the children in budgeting.
The Secretary to the State government (SSG) Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane said that the Annual Review Meeting should be able to address issues by indicating challenges so as to proffer solutions.
Matane however challenged the state MDAs on proper record and data keeping to ensure accountability and transparency noted that tracking indicators was key to ensured that issues raised got policy response to achieve result.
He reassured UNICEF for the payments of its counterpart funds and with other partners with Niger state government while urging the ministry of planning commission to ensure the attainment of SDGs in the state.
