Speaker Niger State House of Assembly and member representing Tara local government Hon. Abdullahi Bawa Wuse has empowered no fewer than 2,000 women and youths in his constituency.
The law Maker said his aim is to create succour to the less privileges especially Widows and the teeming unemployed youths in the state.
Speaking Monday at his Country home, Sabon Wuse in Tafa local government area of the state, the speaker said that the program cut across five categories of beneficiaries which includes; women empowerment, youths empowerment, scholarship, artisans and petty traders.
He noted that 520 women consisting of widows and house wives, 30 football groups for youths on sports development, 150 for tertiary education, post primary and primary especially orphans with 100 beneficiaries while under artisans we have bricklayers, plumbers, electricians, painters and furniture workers with 95 persons while wheelbarrow pushers have 20 beneficiaries.
The lawmaker explained that the women to go home with N10,000 each, N30,000 and N20,000 respectively for tertiary and post primary interventions, 95 artisans to get N15,000 each together with the 20 benefitting wheelbarrow pushers, the orphans got N5,000 each just as the 30 different football groups were provided with JCs and balls.
He said that the scheme was aimed at given back to the society while charging for patient by the people hence would be a sustainable programme especially for other beneficiaries in the nearest future while he appreciated his colleagues for their support thus far.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state represented by the commissioner of Land and Housing, Muktar Nasalle said that the aim of All Progressive Congress is eradicating poverty poverty and job creation hence the speaker was in line with the agenda of the party.
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds given to them to the benefit of the entire society while he commended the lawmaker for the foresight by given back to society.
