President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Abuja, approved the indefinite suspension of Mr Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alledged corrup practices.
This development comes after the embattled Magu was arrested by security operatives and taken to the presidential Villa to face the Justice Ayo Salami, Former President, Court Appeal Presidential panel. Magu spent last night at the police custody before his eventual suspension this morning.
Ibrahim Magu’s offenses borders on diversion of recovered funds by his commission, laundering of funds through third parties and acquisition of illicit properties contrary to the laws governing the Commission.
Mr Magu is expected to hand over to the most senior officer in the Commission as investigation into his activities progresses.
