Covid-19: Ayade Commences Palliative Distribution To Northern District
Cross River state Gov, Sen Prof. Ben Ayade, Monday commenced distribution of palliatives to vulnerable Indegenes of the Northern Senatorial district to mitigate the effects of the novel Coronavirus pandemic.
Apeaking while delivering the items on behalf of the Gov in Obudu, Blessing Egbara, Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare, says her Ministry has commenced the distribution of palliatives to Widows and the Aged in Begiading, Ukpe, Utugwang North and Utugwang south Wards Of Obudu LGA.
She added that the palliative is targeted at the generality of the state using Obudu and by extension the Northern zone as pilot. Flagging off the Project tagged “Operation Feed the Vulnerable, Aged/Widows ” in Obudu on day-1 of the exercise, Mrs Egbara says
“Your Son, Professor Benedict Ayade has sent me down here to distribute this relief materials to you all, I’m but a messenger, The Governor has seen and heard your cry during this pandemic and has sent this relief materials to help you through this tough times. The Governor assures you that this won’t be the last and more will come”
Moved with compassion for crippled mother and son in Ukpe ward, the Humanitarian boss in her capacity promised them two wheelchairs to cushion their sufferings.
Responding to the Gov’s gesture, one of the beneficiary, Utsu Adie Ufom, expressed Joy and thanked the governor for remembering them in a time like this.
“Honestly this is the very first time something like this is happening to us, it has never reached us the villagers and for us to recieve this items today by ourselves means a lot, I pray that God Almighty Continues to Bless Governor Ben Ayade and protect him for us.” Ufom stated.
The distribution which started in phases is expected to extend to other local governments in the zone.
