Breaking : Akabogu, MD/CEO Of NSITF Resigns?
… No, He Went On Leave – NSITF
There are indications that the Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) Dr Michael Akabogu has resign.
Unconfirmed information on Thursday morning at the fund said that the MD was forced to go on leave, and as a result resigned his appointment.
Mr. Akabogu purported resignation may not be unconnected with the recent NYSC certificate scandal which engulfed the establishment in recent time.
Sources within the fund told Peoplereporters that Mr. Akabogu was sent on compulsory leave over the allegations that he forged his NYSC certificate.
The source further said information in his disposal revealed that the MD has resign because it’ appears he may not survive the scandal.
But in a swift reaction, a senior officer at the fund who doesn’t want his name in print told Peoplereporters that the MD was never sent on any compulsory leave, but that he took a two-week leave to resume in January 2023.
He said: “Why should he resigned. What is happening at NSITF is corruption fighting back. The young man went for NYSC just like any other person, all what you are hearing in the news are the handiwork of those who are feeding on the fund and don’t want to stop”.
