Uber, Bolt Workers Issue 7- Day Ultimatum
The Almagamated Union of App- Based Transported Workers of Nigeria ( AUATWON) on Friday issued a 7 day ultimatum to her management to see to the plight of her members or face a total shutdown.
The group who made this known in Abuja also lamented that the management have refused to negotiate with the union on how best to ensure safety of their members .
They accused the app companies who charge over 20- 25 percent commission fees and have refusing to sit and negotiation with the union.

Comrade Adedamola Adeniran told Journalists during a press conference in Labour House , that
operators, and app companies have continued to harm workers by imposing sanctions through deactivations and dismissals.
Comrade Adeniran said though the union had been protesting for the last two days to draw the attention of government and the public on the insensitivity of the management stressing that well meaning Nigerians must intervene to salvage the situation.
He said the union decided to holt the protest today (Friday ) but that would resume at the expiration of the 7 day ultimatum, if nothing happens .
The union demands according to him are “Recognition of AUATWON,
Collective Bargaining with AUATWON on a periodic basis,
Commission fee reduced by 50 percent, price increment by 200 percent and Unlawful deactivation of drivers.
Others of the demands are Safety of drivers, Collaborative design for a fast and speedy appeal process for deactivated drivers and Research collaboration”.
