Suspected bandits on Saturday night invaded the residential home Labaran Maku, Former Minister of Information at Ola, Wakama community of Nassarawa-Eggon Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State.
The bandits in sporadic shooting forced their way into Maku’s Ola residential house in Akwanga at about 7:50pm on Saturday
One of the security guard that was seriously injured said the attackers invaded the house around 8:00pm on Saturday, July 22.
“They came in mob speaking in Hausa, banging the entry gate and started shooting when they were refused entry.
“When I refused to open the gate to them because I did not know who they are, they started shooting and jumped the fences into the compound,” he added.
When contacted Maku said it was the third time his resident and relations are being attacked by suspected bandits.
“You will remember they invaded my father’s compound at the village and kidnapped three of my family members about a month ago.
“About two years ago, they killed two of my elder brother’s children right at the residential house at Gudi community of Akwanga LGA.
“What happened today show clearly that our state is under siege by suspected bandits,” Maku added.
A reliable source said that on sighting the Aymy and Police deployed from Akwanga LGA, the bandits fled into the bush.
Meanwhile, Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasrawa State condemned the attack on Maku’s residence and promised that the security agencies would do everything possible to arrest the perpetrators.
The governor in a statement signed by Mr. Peter Ahemba, his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Affairs, said he had directed the Police and other security agencies to ensure that the criminals are brought to book.
