Public Office Holders in Nasarawa State have been call upon to take their duties seriously for the overall progress of the state.
The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Assoc. Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana stated this when he hosted APC Youth Convasers for Good Governance in his chamber in Lafia.
The Attorney General who was concerned with the way some public office holders allow themselves to be distracted while discharging their responsibilities, urged them, especially those who occupies sensitive positions in government to remain focus, void of distractions, sentiments or conflicting mind.
He said, anyone who allow his official function to be in conflict with his personal schedules would not go far, hence they should be committed to deliver on their mandate.
According to Kana, as a public office holder, one need to be very careful and serious with his duties, and be prudent in the management of resources so as not to crash in the end.
The Justice Commissioner however commended Kokona youths for actively participating in the recently conducted local government polls, and urged them to maintain the spirit for the interest of the party in the state.
He expressed confident that, with the massive support the APC is getting in Kokona local government, they will deliver the party and Engr. Abdullahi Sule in the 2023 governorship poll.
He recalled that, since 2015 to date, no APC member from Kokona has left to join other parties in the state, saying, they would not relent in deepening the affairs of APC in the area.
Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana who is always in contact with his people, said, he would continue to influence development projects to Kokona for the benefit of the people.
He added, as an individual, his concern is to touch lives with the little resources God gave him, and as such, he would not relent in his quest to provide boreholes, hospitals, court rooms and other services to his people.
The Attorney General then called on the APC youth group to continue with the mobilization campaign in the area to ensure party members register with INEC before the 2023 general elections.
He said, being one of the stakeholders from Kokona, he would push for the inclusion or involvement of youths from Kokona in the governance of the state.
Earlier, the leader of the APC Youth Canvassers for Good Governance, Stephen Haruna said, their visit was to thank the Attorney General for standing by them at all times.
He commented that, the group has since begun sensitization of APC members in all the newly created polling units in kokona on the need to register online with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
While thanking Kana for attracting development to the area, he said, the building of court room and hospital and boreholes in some communities in the area would not be forgotten by the people.
