He said the poultry industry need to be protected and equally made to be a major plank of the agriculture sector and as such, government should assist them regarding the challenges faced by the operators of the sub- sector.
The Poultry farmer further challenged the Federal Government to march words with actions by supporting farmers in whatever ways to ameliorate their losses and suffering, as well as increase their zeal in Poultry and other Agriculture production.
Jwantu was optimistic that supporting the local industry would put an end to the poultry- related importation and thereby reducing the burden on the country’s Foreign Exchange.
He emphasised that the Agricultural sub- sector alone if well managed can equally help in reducing crime in the society.
“Assuming our youths are well trained on poultry farms and other related Agricultural production, it will go a long way to take them off the streets as the saying goes an idle mind is the Devil’s workshop.”
