“With the adoption of transplanting Technics, we now harvesting at least 40 bags of rice in one hectare of land that we were getting 25 bags of rice in the past,” the Chairman added.
He added that the group bought a plot of land worth over N5 million and a lot of other things.
Similarly, Mrs Mercy Oganji, told newsmen that VCDP gave their group loan facilities to market in agricultural products and it has really helped in improving their living condition.
She added that each member of their group was giving N200, 000 to add to his or her business.
Also, Mrs Beauty Jerry Maidaya Group of Doma, said they were going through a lot of difficulties in processing rice before now, due to lack of water.
“But now VCDP has provided us with a motorized borehole with an overhead tank as well as a well built structure, machines which had made our job more easy,” she added.
She said they can now comfortably support the welfare of their families through their activities.

Meanwhile, Dr Fatima Aliyu, National Programme Coordinator of VCDP who led the inspecting team, expressed satisfaction with the performances of the beneficiaries in Doma LGA.
The National Director represented by Mrs Vera Onyilo, the Knowledge Management and Communication Advisor of VCDP, said that with the performances of the beneficiaries, more LGAs in the state would be consider for benefit.
According to her currently they were intervening in five LGAs of the state; Lafia, Doma, Nasarawa, Karu and Wamba and we may extend it to additional three LGAs.
She explained that FG/IFAD-VCDP is domiciled at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to improve incomes and food security.
“The project is aimed at improving the incomes and food security of poor rural households engaged in production, processing and marketing of rice and cassava on sustainable basis.
“2,793 vulnarable farmers from Nasarawa, Enugu, Kogi, Anambra, Benue, Niger, Taraba, Ebonyi and Ogun states are currently benefiting under the programme,” she added.
