Insecurity: Baptist Conference Tasks Government On Justice, Fairness

Leaders of Benue/Nasarawa Baptist Conference have tasked government at all levels to entrench the principle of justice and fairness in the discharge of their duties to ensure peace, unity and security of the country.
They made the call on Saturday in Lafia at the 21th Annual Session of Benue/Nasarawa Baptist Conference.
They attributed some of the causes of kidnapping, terrorism, banditry, communal clashes among others to lack of justice and fairness to enforce the law and sanction perpetrators.
Dr Samuel Adeyemo, Guest Speaker at the conference said leaders must totally depend on God in truth and spirit and in deeds to succeed.
The Guest Speaker who is also the Chairman of Kano State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), said leaders would always ensure justice in their affairs when they depend on God.
“When a leader depend on God, that is when he or she will make promises and fulfil and be committed to peaceful coexistence and bringing the people out of insecurity and poverty,” he said.
Dr Adeyemo who is also the lead Pastor of Believers Fellowship Baptist Church Kano, tasked leaders of the church to live worthy of emulation by their members for a peaceful and United Nigeria.
Similarly, Dr Bulus Adamu, President Benue/Nasarawa Baptist Conference called on leaders to ensure they initiate policies and programmes that would better the lives of the people.

He lamented that the current scarcity and high cost of petroleum products as well as food items is seriously adding hardship to the masses that were already going through a lot of challenges.
He therefore appealed to the government and other stakeholders to do everything possible to tackle the situation in the overall development of the country.
On her part, Mrs Hajara Donard-Araf, Director of the Women Missionary Union of Benue/Nasarawa Baptist Conference expressed gratitude to various speakers at the event.
She said that as women, they were reminded to train their children properly and contribute in ensuring peace in their homes, offices, markets among others.
In his Goodwill message, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Deputy Gov. of Nasarawa State expressed gratitude to the conference for having the programme at this time.
Akabe said that prayers offered at the conference would go a long way toward addressing the challenges confronting the nation.
The Deputy Gov. said Nigerians should always pray for their leaders, as according to him, ‘it is only the grace of God that would help leaders to can only suceed’.
The highlight of the conference includes special prayers for peace, unity and progress of the country.
