The chairmen of the 36 State and FCT councils of the Nigeria Civil Service Union have condemned an invasion of the national headquarters of the union by one Menele Nzide, who was expelled by the union.
They therefore called on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to as a matter of urgency bring all the perpetrators to book.
Speaking after a deliberation meeting prior to the incident, Chairman of the Council of State, Comrade Kasim Inuwa said the hudlums led by Nzide cater away N10m meant for Staff salaries and destroyed properties worth over N25m.
“The Council of States of 36 states and FCT NCSU strongly condemned the invasion and wanton destruction of properties, carting away of Staff salaries as well as molestation of Staff of the national Secretariat by an impostors led by one Nzede.
“While commending the IGP for his prompt response to save the situation, we urged him to ensure all those involved are brought to book to serve as deterrent to others”
“The Council of state also pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of the caretaker committee headed by Comrade Lawrence Amaechi for efforts in bringing peace and welfare of the members.
“As law abiding citizens, we shall continue to obey court rulings and ordered, pending the outcome of the matter in Court.
“We also urge all members of the union not to be distracted as the leadership is resolved to ensure an improve welfare of civil servants in the country”.
