NECO 2020/2021 Results

The Registrar/Chief Executive Officer  ( CEO) National Examination Council (NECO) Prof. Godwill Obioma had announced the release of 2021 SSCE results amidst great improvement in Credits across subjects

Announcing the result at the Council, the Registrar said 973, 331 representing 82.68 percent made credit in English language and above.

He added that the number of candidates that registered for the examination is 1221,447;665,830 with 659;796 males representing 54.53 percent while 550,126 representing 45.46 percent are female.

According to him, 894,101candidates representing 73.89% scores 5credit and above including both English and Mathematics.

This according to him, indicates an increase of 2.3% when compared to that of 2019 which stood at 829,787.

The number of candidates who made five  credits and above irrespective of English language and mathematics is 1,112,041 representing 91.91% when compared to that 2019 June/July SSCE figures of 1,042,989, there’s an increase of 2.01%

Prof. Godswill Obioma who was optimistic over the decline in examination malpractice year by year added that the examination faces numerous challenges ranging from Covid-19 pandemic to ENDEARS protest, among others.

Obioma maintained that some states were affected as a result of the Covid19lockdown and the ENDEARS protest that followed.

The affected States according to him include Abia, Enugu, Edo, River, Ondo, Ekiti, and Lagos. Others are Oyo, Kano, FCT, and Ogun State.

The affected subjects include Chemistry practical, Economics, Technological drawing, Food and Nutrition, and Further Mathematics.

According to him, the results of the affected candidates will be pending for the paper missed and would be subsequently updated after supplementary examination results are released.
