Akwaji’s Departure Is Too Heart- rending To Bear-Ayade
Cross River state Governor, Sen, Prof. Ben Ayade has expressed sadness over the demise of Hon Godwin Akwaji, a serving member of the state Assembly representing Obudu State Constituency.
The Governor said Hon Akwaji took a bow when his wealth of experience was most needed in the state.
He described the lawmaker as not just his representative in the Assembly, but a confidant and political associate with exceptional qualities.
Ayade in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Christian Ita, commiserated with Hon. Akwaji’s family, the Obudu people, the state house of assembly and the People’s Democratic Party in the state.
“Hon. Akwaji left us when his experience and imput in the governance of the state were most needed. For me, this is a personal loss for Akwaji was not just a kinsman, he was my brother, my confident, political ally and my representative in the House of Assembly.”
“The state has indeed lost one of its finest breeds. My heart and my soul are heavy. Akwaji’s departure is too heart- rending to bear.”
“At this trying period, we can only pray for the repose of the soul of our brother. We cannot question God for His decision is final.Though we love Hon.Akwaji but God loves him more
“Let us therefore, mourn like Christians, believing that our brother is now resting in the Lord’s bosom.” The statement reads.
