BREAKING: APC National Secretariat Under Siege By Police As NWC Dissolution Looms
The leadership scramble rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) is at crescendo as the crisis changed gear Tuesday morning following the sudden arrival of policemen at the National Secretariat Abuja to enforce the barricade orders.
The officers are believed to be acting on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu in fostering Law and order.
The development sparked curiosity as the newly detached team of policemen who arrived the Secretariat by 10:50am parked directly in front of the entrance to National Secretariat thereby preventing any other vehicle from gaining access into the premises as internal guards on duty were ordered to lock the gate.
A source who pleaded not to be named said that the policemen are suspected to be acting in higher authority as they are detailed not to allow party officials including the Hillard Eta – led National Working Committee (NWC).
The source added that the action by men of the Nigerian Police Force may not be unconnected to the earlier visit to the Force Headquarters Tuesday morning by a factional acting National chairman of the party, Victor Giadom.
As at the time of filling this report, no member of the NWC was found within the party secretariat.
Meanwhile, insinuations of possible dissolution of the current National Working Committee is imminent following a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and Progressives Governors on Monday at the State House Abuja.
