COMMERCE MINISTRY TO
SYNERGIZE WITH
SANTUSCOM AGRO-MRS ARCHIBONG
In a bid to revamp Cross River state from her dwindling Agro-economy, the state is set to synergize with Santuscom Agro-Investment, an Agro based firm to reposition her in the scheme of things. This was made known Wednesday by the Hon Commissioner for Commerce, Pst, Mrs. Rosemary Archibong, in Calabar during a visit to her office by the leadership of Santuscom Investment.
The Commerce boss assured the team of government commitment towards her forthcoming rice exhibition in the state which is hoped to broaden the state prospects in rice production and by extension mitigates the effects of the pandemic on Cross Riverians.
Mrs Archibong used the opportunity to eulogise the company for aligning with the agricultural drive of the Ayade’s administration. She also noted that with the novelty and unique organic seedlings in rice farming as currently practiced, the state was on the path to rice sufficiency.
The Santuscom Agro-Investment team led by the company’s Managing Director, Chief Ofana Paul, in their response stated that the Company was set up to compliment Governor Ayade’s Industrialisation efforts especially in the rice and other agricultural value chain in terms of processing, packaging and promoting the State owned rice, Palm oil, yam flour amongst other agricultural produce.
The MD also stated that Agro-commerce is the alternative to depleting oil economy. He encouraged youths to embrace commercial farming as it is the mainstay of world economy.
Mr Ofana thanked the Commissioner for her warm reception even as he assures the state of a flourishing working relationship.
