Chairman of the Abuja Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche had urged newly elected executives of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists( NAWOJ) to keep to their promises by extending a grave vine to aggrieved members of the association resulted from the election.
Comrade Ogbeche gave the advised when the Anne Daniel led executives paid him a courtesy visit at the council Secretariat in Utako Abuja.
Comrade Ogbeche while encouraging the Chairperson of NAWOJ to reconcile aggrieved members so as to carry everyone along for a progressive Union.
”Reconciliation should be your starting point, Open door policy is key and cardinal to achieving whatever you are set to achieve. I want to urge you to ensure that your doors are open without discrimination…”
Comrade Ogbeche pledged the readiness of the NUJ FCT Chapter to provide the needed support to NAWOJ when necessary.
Earlier, the Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Comrade Annah Daniel promised to run an open door administration towards repositioning the Association.
According to “We have come to say thank you for the support during the election… “We have seen how you translate vision to reality. We are here to tap from your wealth of experience in our desire to reposition women Journalists in FCT.
She added that NAWOJ is in dire need of training and retraining of members, mentorship, Empowerment as well as advocacy and entrepreneurial schemes that will impact socially, economically, intellectually, and financially in the lives of our women journalists in FCT.
“With your kind support Mr. Chairman Sir, our women can acquire skills that will give them financial freedom”
The Chairperson of NAWOJ gave the assurance that she would solicit support from relevant partners for the training and retraining of women Journalists in the FCT.
