A group of Young Nigerians under the aegis of Youth Security Round Table, has called on Nigerians to stand in solidarity with DCP Abba Kyari, over his recent challenges, insisting that men of the underworld whose criminal enterprises he has crumbled are working tirelessly to pull him down.
This is contained in a statement issued by the President Comrade Pius Ofu, and made available to journalists in Abuja, where he called on Government to scrutinize the intentions of those calling for the head of the officer.
He said “Experts have said that It is important to approach our national security holistically especially from a patriotic and selfless point of view and one officer who has giving his all in furtherance of a secured Nigeria is Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Abba kyari .
“He has dedicated his life to his job and for over ten decades he has solved and unraveled the most dangerous criminal cases in the country, which has taken several powerful persons out of business and there has been a calculated attempt to bring him down Nigerians and the world over should realize that there comes a time when the under world fights back visiously to deplete and strangle the feat we have collectively achieved as a people hence the call for his head to be put on a stake because he remains one of the most endeared police officers to Nigerians.
‘He has received accolades and awards both local and internationally for some of the operations he led, but he is humiliated and discouraged today , this might kill the morale of every devoted security personnel in the country , who will one day rise to fight the ugly men of the under world of crime in this country, the current peace being enjoyed in Imo state and the south east can be attributed to the successful outing of the team he led to quell the uprising .
“We must be conscious of the consequences of mismanaging our already fragile security situation will be sure, for instance imagine tomorrow it is announced there is no more Abba Kyari in the Nigeria Police, It will send jubilation to the camp of criminals in this country.
“The authorities should ensure that they scrutinize the intentions of those calling for his head and not allow the west that has over the years shown that their best interest is not seeing genuine development in Africa, starting from decades of direct exploitations and now neo liberal policies aim at further exploiting Africans.
“He has stated his sincere relationship with the convicted Abbas AKA Hushpuppy, and should be accepted as such until proven otherwise by a Nigerian court of competent jurisdiction.
“Its however not the first incident of organized crimimnals to defame and vandalise the hardwork of our security agencies in the country to reap them off hard truth that they have made some gains that we need to consolidate upon
to ensure that we secure our people better.
“It is known that in a country like ours corruption always fights back, we use this medium to encourage Nigerians to continue to support our security agents especially hardworking security personnel like DCP Abba Kyari in the quest of achieving a safer and secure nation, where our families and loved are safe and secured.
“Our authorities should ask some critical questions, like who wants to bring down Abba Kyari? He is the one man who has dedicated to providing answers to the current security challenges in the Country.
“Abba like any other human being may not be perfect, who stands to benefit from this on going pulling him down move?
Since when did American become the ones to punish our erring police officers?
When they take down Abba Kyari, will they come and police our land?
