CJN Tanko Resigns, Olukayode Set To Emerge Acting CJN
Information reaching us from the Supreme Court Complex today Monday said the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Tanko Mohammed, has resigned on the ground of ill health.
The resignation according to reliable source is based on health grounds.
According to the report, after his last health trip to Dubia, the Chief Justice of Nigeria has been battling ill health .
The report further said the resignation of the embattled CJN Tanko Mohammed, was as a result of the crisis following the protest letter by the justices of the supreme court.
The Justices had accused the CJN Tanko Mohammed of sundry offences of which high-handedness, running of the Apex Court like a one-man business among others.
Meanwhile the standing rules which makes it possible for the most senior justice to take over, the next in line to the CJN is said to be Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.

According to available information, arrangements are ongoing to swear in the next most senior justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
