Red Cross, NSPHDA Inaugurate COVID-19 Vaccination In Tertiary Institution
The Red Cross Society in collaboration with the Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NSPHDA) has inaugurated COVID-19 vaccination in all tertiary institution in the state.
Speaking at the event on Thursday at the Isa Mustapha Agwai 1 Polytechnic Lafia, Mr Jerry Danjuma-Kuje, Nassarawa State Secretary of Red Cross said the programme was aimed at achieving zero COVID-19 infection.
He said that the team has started the mass vaccination at Isa Mustapha Agwai 1 Polytechnic Lafia today, but would also move to other tertiary institution in the state.
“Apart the vaccination, we are also creating awareness to the students and the staff on the preventive measures to guard against infectious diseases,”he added.
He also lauded NSPHDA, African Union and other partners for sponsoring the programme aimed at saving lives and livelihoods.
Similarly, Mohammed Addis, Executive Secretary of NSPHDA represented by Awolowo Koto, Director in the Agency, said they would not relent in effort towards saving lives, enhancing livelihoods and COVID-19 scale three point zero across the state.

Reacting, Dr. Justina Kotso, Rector of the Polytechnic Doctor Justina, welcomed Red Cross Society and partners for their giant strides in saving lives of people of the state.
She also promised to give them all the support needed to succeed.
Some of the students who received the COVID-19 vaccine Jab, Miss Mary Nuhu and Jessy Peter appreciated the Red Cross Society and partners for bringing the vaccine closer to them.
