Women stakeholders in Nasarawa State have lauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing nine women as Ministers.
The group on Thursday in Lafia, held a solidarity rally from Lafia City Hall to the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Habiba Balarabe-Suleiman, Director-General (DG) of Nasarawa State Human Capital Development Agency, said the appointment to women was unprecedented.
She added that, this is the first time that up to nine women are appointed to serve as Ministers at the same time in the history of the country.
The spokesperson added that all the women appointees would deliver and add value to the renew hope mantra of the president, given their pedigree and antecedents.
She also appealed to the president to assign sensitive portfolios to the women to enable them express themselves in line with their respective field.
The spokesperson of the group also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing Mrs Imaan Suleiman as the nominee from Nasarawa State.
She expressed optimism that Imaan Suleiman would make the state proud and assist the president to deliver on his campaign promises to Nigerians.
The group’s spokesperson also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his role in ensuring that a woman was nominated from the state.
On her part, Abigail Waya, State’s Head of Service, said this is the season for women to shine.
