Falana Warns Against Unpopular Candidates In 2023
Human Rights lawyer, Femi Falana has warned that if nothing is done to change the current political leadership in Nigeria, the country would go through worst time in 2023.
Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN) however challenges the organised labour to resuscitate the Labour Party which is workers party to take over power from this current crops of leadership.
Speaking at a meeting of National Political Commission with the State Political Committees, the legal luminary said no political parties in Nigeria have the kind of structures the labour movement has, stressing that Nigerians are tired of the current crops of leadership.
“Let me tell us here that if we are not careful, what would happen after 2023 will be worst than what is happening now. That is why I’m calling on the NLC and other labour movement to stand up and take up the process, you must resuscitate the labour party.
“APC and PDP claimed they have structure, non of them has the kind of structure the labour party has, you need to do is between now and two months, you need to hold a national convention according to the electoral law to elect your presidential candidate that would fly the party ticket in 2023. Labour Party could be de-register if you don’t file a candidate in 2023.
