General Angbazo Joins Nasarawa State Governorship Race

Retired Maj. Gen. Nuhu Angbazo has declared to contest for the Governorship of Nasarawa State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Angbazo made the disclosure on Thursday in Lafia in a meeting with state working committee members of the party.
According to the aspirant, if elected, his topmost priority is to secure the state, given the experience he has acquired for 35 years in military.
“As someone who has worked in the military for 35 years, I have the capacity to tackle security challenges in the state,” he said.
Angbazo also said he would tackle unemployment and establish a complete Agricultural value-chan from production of different agricultural products to processing, because majority of the people are farmers.
The aspirant appealed to other aspirants to go about their campaigns without bitterness and put the interest of the of the state and the party first.
Responding, Francis Orogu, Nasarawa State PDP Chairman welcomed the aspirant and assured him of a level playing ground to release his aspiration.

The PDP Chairman said the state had suffered a lot in the last 12 years and the party want to rescue the people of the state from bad governance.
Orugu also said that the party has put machinery on ground to guard against anti-party activities by members which had been their problem over the years.
He therefore appealed to all aspirants to ensure that the accept the outcome of the forthcoming primaries in good faith and work for the person that emerge to ensure the victory of the party in 2023 election.
