Residence Lauds Gov. Sule For Commencing Upgrade Of 48.7 Toto/Umasha Road

The residence of Toto Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State have lauded Gov. Abdullahi Sule for the commencement of work on the upgrade of 48.6 Toto/Umasha road.

The contract for the upgrade of the road was awarded to Ela Engineering and Construction Nigeria Ltd. at N4 billion.

The cross section of the residence gave the commendation on Saturday in Toto LGA when a team of journalists on good governance tour organised by the Nasarawa State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) visited the area.

The Nasarawa State Council of NUJ had embarked on a three-day tour to assess the projects executed by the governor, since inception and to also talk to people from the benefiting communities.

Malam Jibrin Liman, Chief Imam of Ugya Central Mosque said the commencement of work to upgrade the road is a big relief to the people of the area.

The Imam explained that the road is linking so many communities to Nasarawa Local Government Area and other parts of the state as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

He thanked the governor for keeping to his promise to upgrade the road.

Liman added that due to the bad condition of the road, the people of the area who are mostly farmers find it difficult to transport their farm produce to the market, but said they now have a sign of big relief.

Also, Hon. Mohammed Umar, Council representing Ugya Electoral Ward also commended the governor for awarding the contract for the upgrade of the road.

“As a representative of the people, I am the most happiest because the lives of my people is being touched positively by the governor.

“The company so far are doing a good work, but I appealed to them to sustain the tempo and deliver on time and in line with the terms and conditions of the contract,” the councillor added.

On his part, Mr Yusuf Isiaka, General Manager (GM) of Ela Engineering and Construction Nigeria LTD, said the road is 48.7.

The GM of the company explained that the contract is to ungrade the road surface to nylon asphalt.

The General Manager promised that they would deliver a quality job based on contract specifications within the one year dateline.

He therefore, appealed to the people as well as stakeholders of the area to continue to support them in order to deliver on their mandate.
