Sule Sworn In New Akwanga LGA Chairman

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule on Friday sworn in Safiyanu Isa, who until now was the Deputy Chairman as the substantive Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area (LGA) following the demise of Emmanuel Leweh, the Chairman of the area.

Speaking at the ceremony in Lafia, the Governor called for a minute silence in honour of the deceased and prayed God to forgive whatever wrong he had committed and give him eternal rest.

Governor Sule added that the exercise was in compliance with extant laws guiding local government administration in the state.

He therefore charged the new Council boss to sustain the legacy of his former boss and ensure transformation for the benefit of the people of the area.

Leweh died on Thursday January 13 after a brief illness in a private hospital, Abuja and was buried on Wednesday 19, 2022.
