Understanding The Teenage Minds

By Lawrence Blessing Aya

The Teenage mind is another world on its own that once every child gets there, they feel like they can take responsibility and decision on their own. They see themselves like kings and Queens of their lives. They need no one to tell them what to do and what not to do, where to go and not to,even the kind of friends to move around with. At this Stage of their lives, they are been exposed to many things which can either be good or bad. Parents at this time should be very careful, observant and attentive to their children, they should be more friendly, so as to know what is really going on in their lives. experience they say is the best teacher, but these all comes with a price that one has to pay. That is where most parents make mistakes and lose total control of their children, this is because the mind of the teenagers at this stage feels that they know what is right and wrong, even what is best for them. The parent should as a matter of fact should not force their opinion on them, instead correct them with love any wrong doing in order not to see them like enemies. For instance, most parents today tend to choose schools and even courses to study in schools as well as what to even become in future. They forgot that the child has a mind of their own, their passion and things that they feel is best to them.
Sometimes you hear a child saying I wanted to study Art, but my parent Said I should go for sciences and you find out that the child is not doing well cause the passion is not there.

Above all, parents should know what the bible says about children in the book of Ephesians 6 vs 4.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to the point of resentment with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by showing favoritism or indifference to any of them], but bring them up [tenderly, with lovingkindness] in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
