Vandalisation: Court Begins Trial Of Assembly APC Candidate In Nasarawa

The Federal High Court sitting in Lafia on Thursday commenced the trail of Yusuf Mada, Nassarawa-Eggon West House of Assembly candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election.

The APC Assembly candidate was arraigned alongside 29 others in June 2021 for alleged vandalism of rail slippers.

Mada was a former Special Adviser (SA) to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.

Mada and 29 others pleaded not guilty to the allegations against them, while two of the defenders pleaded guilty.

In her ruling, Justice Afolabi Nehizena the trail judge adjurned the case to November 15, 16, and 17 for presentation of witnesses by the Prosecuting Counsel.

In an interview with newsmen after the adjournment, Obafemi Tijjani, Prosecuting Counsel assured that the police is ready to prosecute the matter to ensure that justice is served.

The Prosecuting Counsel said all their witnesses are available for presentation to prove their case in the next adjourned dates.
