The legal battle between the National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC) and Daar Communications Plc, owners of AIT and Raypower FM will soon be layed to rest. This follows the agreement between the two parties to settle out of court. The statement was made in Abuja today (Tuesday/13/2019) by both parties through their legal teams. Recall that the regulating Agency had earlier suspended the operational license of the media giant for failing to live up it’s responsibility which ranges from inability to pay taxes as at when due and refusal to conform to some broadcast ethics. Daar Communications Plc challenged this suspension by seeking the intervention of the Court which is perceived to be the last hope of a common man. The court had earlier instructed both parties to maintain statusqo pending the outcome of Court proceedings. The both parties in the spirit of sportsmanship during today’s seating agreed to settle the matter out of court. The case has since been adjoined to July 26, 2019 for further hearing . Counsel to the NBC however noted that If the adjoined date was brough closer, it would have aided Broadcast regulations in Nigeria .
