The Head of Surveillance of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has lamented over the activities of unauthorised persons aiding and abetting illegal practices around the waterways as well as oil and gas installations in the country.
According to a statement signed by IPMAN Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ossy Favour Ehikioya also urge stakeholders to see operations of unauthorised individuals as creaminals and therefore report such to the security agencies for prosecution.
The statement further described bsome individuals parading themselves as IPMAN South-South Petroleum Monitoring Group as enemies of the system.
The group said “these elements are also collecting money from unsuspecting operators including illegal operators while aiding and abetting illegal activities on our waterways and around Oil and Gas installations.
“Consequently, we are by this notice informing all stakeholders and the general public that there is ONLY ONE IPMAN and one Head of Surveillance, IPMAN, in the person of Prince Emmanuel Botu.
“Whereas, Olotu has mobilized his force to halt the activities of these illegal team, he has ordered a prompt security response to apprehend the culprits. We hereby notify all stakeholders and the general public that these individuals and their collaborators are criminals and should be treated as such.
The Surveillance Team of IPMAN under the leadership of Olotu is poised to clear the Nigerian Waterways of criminal elements and make it safe for Oil Marketers and the good people of Nigeria”.
The group further expressed her commitment to ensure the
protection of Oil and Gas products and meeting the demand of the Presidential Mandate for the Oil and Gas sector
