The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) has urged governors in Nigeria to obey the executive order 10, recently signed by President Muhammadu Buhari on the financial autonomy for judiciary and legislature in Nigeria.
President of PASAN, Comrade Mohmmed Usman in a telephone conversation with Blueprint also described as primitive for a governor to want to control other arm of governments when the Constitution clearly specify the doctrine of separation of powers.
He urged stakeholders in both judiciary and legislature to work together to ensure her independent as guarantee in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“The Truth is that the president of the Federal Republic has signed Executive order 10 , and this order reaffirmed the independent of judiciary and legislature, so I see no reason why a governor will say another arm of government like judiciary to be under the control of the Head of service.
“It is uncalled for and we are not going to allow that , we the parliamentary Union would join hand with JUSUN to fight against such violation of the Constitution.
“This is because each of the arm of government is independent of another..for instance, can you say executive should be under legislature or judiciary, so we won’t allow that because what the governor did is a violation of the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. We reject it, we would battle every governor that don’t want progress and development in the Nigeria. We are with the people of kaduna, we are standing with judiciary and also the legislature on this matter”.
