An emerging Entertainment outfit under the aegis of 300 Empire has rolled out activities to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the group in their quest to use Hip Hop to establish a Jesus centred sub-culture in the society.
This is contained in a statement made by the Coordinator of the group Jerry Jallo, to journalists in Abuja, where he noted that it would be an opportunity for young talents to use hip hop and rap music to glorify God.
He said the Theme of the event is “Funeral Service” which is metaphorically to connote the death of self and promote the victory over ones self, adding that they are poised to use Hip Hop to establish a Jesus centred sub-culture in the society especially among the youth. The rationale is that the power of Hip Hop culture on young people cannot be overlooked or undermined so why not use such power to the advantage of the Church rather than lose the youth to Hip Hop.
Jallo noted that the event amongst many other goals, seeks to share with hip hoppers, and fans of music the idea on how to use hip hop as a positive effect that would contribute towards making society better. It would furthermore present the concept of Gospel hip hop to the Church and share how it could be used for the conversion of souls. Conclusively it would encourage a desire and mindset among small scale event managers for excellence and creative ingenuity.
The event is for two days, 5th & 6th August and will hold at the Praise Cathedral, Zaramaganda- Rayfield road, Jos City, by 4pm each day.
They are also calling for support by stakeholders to drive the process.
