Gov. Sule Hails Council Of State Decision On Cash Swap
Nasarawa State Government,. Abdullahi Sule has lauded the decisions taken at the Council of State meeting in respect to printing of more new Naira notes.
The governor gave the commendation at a meeting with stakeholders on Saturday in Akun Development Area of Nassarawa-Eggon Local Government Area (LGA) in continuation of his re-election campaign to rural communities across the state.
Sule congratulated Nigerians over the decisions adding that it would go a long way to cushion the hardship being experienced by Nigerians in the last few weeks.
The Governor equally welcomed the decision of the council mandating the Federal Government to obey the judgement of the Supreme Court which nullified the February 10 dateline earlier set for the expiration of the old Naira notes.
He also appealed to Nigerians to remain patient, stressing that the APC governors are seeking for a six month extension before the old Naira notes are phased out.
He added that already the state government was working in collaboration with Commercial Banks in the state to make the new Naira notes available to curtail the hardship being faced by the people.
He also called on business owners in the state to accept transfer from customers and use POS for transactions in order to ameliorate the suffering the people are facing.

Meanwhile the governor also visited Farin Ruwa Development Area, Wamba LGA as part of the campaign to rural areas.
In Kwarra, headquarters of Farin Ruwa, the Governor appreciated traditional rulers and people of the area, for their support and cooperation that led to restoring peace and security in Ambaka previously bedevilled by bandits.
He disclosed plans by his administration to harness the potentials of the Farin Ruwa waterfalls and Kwarra dam, particularly for the generation of approximately 40 megawatt of electricity.
He noted that his administration had within the last three years, constructed many urban and rural roads to facilitate transportation of people and farm produce to the markets, thereby improving the living condition of the people.
The governor also said that the administration had invested a lot in security, to ensure peaceful environment for free movement of citizens without fear of attacks.
“We will continue to invest in security to ensure peace and unity because the state cannot develop in an atmosphere of rancour.
“So, do not allow anyone use religion or ethnicity to divide us and erode the peace we built in the last three years,” the governor added.
He, therefore, called on the people of the area to vote for Bola Tinubu, Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.
Contributing, Solomon Bande, Overseers of Farin Ruwa Development Area, thanked the governor for his commitment to bring development to rural areas.
He commended the governor for constructing the Sisin Baki/Kwarra road, which has been a source of concern in the area for the past.
The overseer therefore assured the governor that the people of the area are ready to massively vote for the candidates of the APC from top to bottom.
