Suddenly sleeps were cut short and snoring ends abruptly. Instead of the crows of the cock, it was the cries and wailing of the victims of mixed marauders that often ends our sleep.
The sun seems to have set over Benue, the once peaceful jewel of the valley; darkness have swallowed and overshadowed the once bright morning sun that brightens the horizon with hopes and expectations.
Our peace has been truncated, reminiscent of the dog of war have been unleashed on our land.
Blood of the innocents flows through the valley in place of water, changing it’s aquatic culture.
At last, we are defenseless; who will come to our rescue? Like the Pilate of old, they have washed their hands off our calamities, tragedies and we are left to carry our cross to walk down the valley of death alone. No Simon to assist, from the farm to our homes, the evil penetrated our holy temple, a place of communion with creator and helper, yet they look askance.
Security seems to give way to conspiracy. Hummmm Echenooo)
The hand of Esau’s but the voice of Jacob’s whose ‘Ate’ shall we seek refuge?
